Highlights for Fantasy Fest 2006 Photos

Q: What made this year different than the others?
A: The freakin' people! My goodness, I've never seen so many people than this year's event. I'm assuiming this is because New Orleans didn' have their Mardi Gras and the official Fantasy Fest '05 got moved to a later date.

So, what should you look for in these pictures this year?

Party Pictures:
Like the other years, I've divided up the photos into two different categories - day & night. In the daytime, look for the shots I took inside the Fairvilla megastore masqurade march. From flamingos to smoking fish to a walking handjob, this years costumes didn't dissapoint. At night, take a look at the wilder side of Key West. Note all the fantastic airbrush paintings.

Body Painting Contest:
From cowgirls to wizards, this year had some good body painting to cover the adventurous (and yes very nude) ladies strutting their 'stuff' on the catwalk. BTW, if you're a body painter that frequents Fantasy Fest (and you're good), contact me personally or head to the MySpace page. I get questions all the time about finding a good body painting artist.

Duval Street Parade:
My favorite float this year was the trubute to Pluto. From signs to save this planet, spaceships filled with Plutonians, and cool lighting throughout, you should check them out.

The Rest:
Other picture sets of Key West include the butterfly museum (my moment of 'zen' & some of the best butterly photos George & I have ever taken), the chicken house (Chickens are to Key West as Apple Pie is to America), Fort Jefferson (located in the dry tortugas - rough boat ride but some of the best photographic scenes in my life), and the rest of Key West.

Where Not to Go: Pimp & Ho Party
With the combination of overpriced tickets ($75+ per ticket - yea right!) & commercialization, I am officially banning this event. The first year was amazing. Now it's just greedy...
