Fantasy
Fest 2003
In 2003, the key west festivities were better than
ever. This was their 25th anniversay dubbed "Daze of
Futures Past" and showcased the history of fantasy
fest. The major sponsors stuck around like Captain
Morgan...and brought all the pirate-wear you can stand
to see! Everyone seemed to be some sort of pirate (due
to the pirate vendor gear out on the middle of duval
street). So, what else did we find out about this year?
Tradional "costume friends" showed up this year,
including the Hooters guys. And yes, I even saw the
baywatch transvestites (that's no Pamela Anderson ladies
and gents!)
I met some wonderful people...some of who I can't
wait to see next year. If you're reading this, I'm
sure you know why ;)
Nudity was at an all-time high. This, of course,
could be due to the 70,000+ people who arrive over
the fantasy fest break. I'm telling you, there's nothing
better than seeing every shape and size breast known
to man...of course it helps when you dress up like
a breast doctor (and you're "open all night").
We stayed at the Banyan resort. Nice place, but a
bit quirky at times...ah, but who cares? It was literally
less than a 5 minute walk from Duval street! Hell,
we even saw the parade go down our street!
The body painting contest of 2003 was the biggest
ever. Since I'm also an artist, I can really see how
well their craftsmanship was of those paintings. Make
sure to check them out below. I plan on going to this
event every year!
The fantasy fest parade was better than ever. The
mix of 25 years can sure offer some variation. There
was even this skeleton that raised and lowered out
of the float! You can see the pictures below under
"Fantasy Fest Parade". Also, I was a bead whore this
year. I felt like doing anything for those beads...and
I sure got alot! I also got a really cool pin that
said "I love boobs!". Some guy said "hey doc, you like
boobs?". And I said, "hell yea! I am a breast doctor
ya know!". So, I'll probably be introducing that little
pin for 2004's fantasy fest festivities.
And, once again, this fantasy fest could not happen
without my good friend George.
He is one of the main reasons I post these pictures.
I'm quite glad to see him, his co-workers, and his
friends. I can't wait to have fun with you guys in
2004...
