What is the Meaning of life? - Wikipedia can tell you...

Have you ever done a search for things that can't be explained? And yet, they are... Well, I did a recent search for "the meaning of life" in Google's Q&A tool & Wikiopedia came up first...and for good reason. You see, Wikiopedia can be edited by anyone. So, much of the information comes from many sources. To me, this is a great way of finding your own answer to life's impossible (or so it seems) questions.

Included are some popular beliefs. Do you agree?

Popular beliefs
Many people believe that the meaning of life is:

...to accumulate wealth
...to advance natural human evolution, or to contribute to the gene pool of the human race
...to advance technological evolution, or to actively develop the future human
...to become God, or God-like
...to compete or co-operate with others
...to destroy others who harm you, or to practice nonviolence and nonresistance
...to express compassion
...to gain and exercise power
...to give and receive love
...to learn and find enlightenment
...to leave a legacy, such as a work of art or a book
...to live in peace with each other, and in harmony with our natural environment
...to produce offspring through sexual reproduction
...to pursue a dream, vision, or destiny
...to relate, connect, or achieve unity with others
...to search for truth, knowledge, understanding, or wisdom
...to seek and acquire virtue, to live a virtuous life
...to seek and find beauty
...to seek freedom, either physically, mentally, financially, or spiritually
...to seek happiness and flourish, experience pleasure or celebrate
...to serve others or do good deeds
...to simply live until one dies (there is no universal or celestial purpose, existence has no meaning beyond which one chooses to give it)
...to survive, including the pursuit of immortality through scientific means (see life extension)
...to work for justice and democracy
...to worship, serve, or achieve union with God
...or some combination of the above

So, do you agree? Or do you have any others you would add?

The "Brian Zajac" website receives all-time high of 8800+ visitors

Well, my website has been taxed quite a bit this past week. Unfortunately, it came at a cost - Sam, the world's ugliest dog, passed away last week. So, the internet has been heavily searched to find some world's ugly dog pictures - namely my website. I just hope all of you have enjoyed the photos so far and got some information on the ugly dog owners. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me privately or publicly on my guestbook.

A Sad Day Indeed - World's Ugliest Dog & Florida Local Ugly Dog Contest Winners Passed Away Over Same Weekend

According to my guestbook page, information was passed along stating that both Zippy (local Bonita Springs Ugly Dog Contest Winner) & Sam (Voted World's Uglies Dog) have both died over the weekend. According to Kelly (Zippy's owner):

"With a sad heart, I just wanted you to know that the 'Grand Dam' of the Ugly Dog Contests, Zippy has passed away. Upon looking at the internet this morning, SAM, the World's Ugliest Dog has also passed away. I have been in touch with Susie, and we believe that they somehow were soulmates, and were meant to be together somehow, and hopefully in a better place."

Ugly dogs come and go...but it's the love that last's forever. During all my years of photographing the ugly dog contests, I noticed that the owners all had unconditional love for their pooches. I wish only the best for Susie and Kelly and hope to see them love (and enter) another ugly dog.

For more photos of Zippy, view my ugly dog contest page. Click on the ugly dog contest 2005. Zippy is bonita_springs_ugly_dog_contest_2005_008.jpg

To view Sam, either read my article on Sam's winning for 2005 or visit their weblog.

The "Unofficial" Fantasy Fest 2005

2005…what can I say? This Key West excursion went down as the weirdest year for Fantasy Fest. First of all, the “official Fantasy Fest 2005” is in December. But, do you think that stopped me and the locals? Hell no! So, what you're seeing here is the “unofficial Fantasy Fest 2005”. Think about it – what would you do if your island got flooded, your car doesn't work, and you have serious damage to your home? Well, in Key West, they party!

The newest pictures this year includes:

Daytime Party Pictures - Friday and saturday parades.

Nighttime Party Pictures - Saturday night parade - tons of great costume shots and wild "activities" - body painting, beads, and occassional debauchery.

General Pictures - Things I did around Key West - a new pirate museum, shopping, sunsets, and goofy shots. This is more of the "PG" section.

Hurricane Wilma Key West Disaster Photos - Flooding, destroyed homes & cars, all wooden docks destroyed...goes to show you how much we shouldn't mess with mother nature.

Butterfly Museum - My sunday moment of "Zen" - after a crazy saturday night, I needed something to balance it all out. If you're looking for some great butterfly & bird shots, take a peek.

View it all by going to the Unofficial Key West Fantasy Fest 2005 page.

Bonita Springs Ugliest Dog Contest 2005 - November 5th, 2005

Once again, the flamingo island flea market has hosted the ugliest pet contest and I was there to snag some more shots. This year, unfortunately, got screwed up by hurricane wilma and had to be postponed a few times before the event could take place. So, there weren't as many contestants this year. Next year sounds like there will be much more involved. There are tenatively three separate categories:

1. Ugliest dog
2. Most beautiful dog
3. Owner & pet look-alike

So, if you think you've got what it takes, remember that the contest starts in august 2006 (depending if there are any more hurricanes).

This year's winners:
1. Betty Boop - she's the wrinkly Shar-Pei that also won in 2001.
2. Zippy - the hairless crested that is an astonishing 15 years old! Way to go Kelly (owner) on feeding him the right 'puppy chow'
3. Lamchop the slobbery bulldog.
